FROM THE PEARLAND PETS FACEBOOK PAGE:
Hi! My name is Oscar. I am a very handsome Great Dane mix. I am about 2 years old. I have been living at the Pearland Animal Shelter for a really long time – over 2 1/2 MONTHS! It makes me sad to see people look at me, then pass over me when they see that I am heartworm positive. I am now the recipient of a $250 pledge from Pearland Pets that will go towards my heartworm treatment (paid direct to the veterinarian once treatment begins). Please help me find my very own family that I can call my own or a rescue who will take me in. I really, really want to be able to be loved and comforted in someone’s home.
As you can see, I am a big, strong, handsome boy. When I first came to the shelter, I was underweight. Because of the love I have been given at the shelter, I have gained about 10 pounds and I now weigh almost 90 pounds. I still have a little bit more weight to gain. While I am a big, strong guy, I am also a super sweet loving teddy bear!
I walk well on a leash and I would love to be able to go on a walk every day. After I go for my walk, I am a calm and chill guy for the rest of the day.
The people who care for me at the shelter say they don’t know if I get along well with other dogs or cats. They just don’t know.
If you are interested in adopting me, fostering me or getting me into a rescue, please contact the Pearland Animal Shelter at 2002 Old Alvin Road, Pearland, TX 77581 or 281-652-1970.
Please SHARE my story to help me get a forever home, a rescue or a foster home!
****** Pearland Pets is able to pledge $250 towards Oscar’s heartworm treatment because of the amazing support we receive from our generous community. Please consider making a donation of any amount (yes, $1 helps!) so we can help other heartworm positive dogs at the Pearland Animal Shelter. Our goal is for potential homes to not overlook a dog because the dog is heartworm positive. We want to help these dogs find their forever homes by pledging $250 towards their heartworm treatment. We understand that heartworm treatment can be expensive and we do NOT want the deciding factor to come down to a dog not being adopted, simply because it is heartworm positive. Please help us build our heartworm treatment fund so we can help many other dogs at the Pearland Animal Shelter! ******
