In Texas, fishing without a license is a crime, but on June 1, Texans can fish without worries or a license.
Every year, The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department holds Free Fishing Day on the first Saturday in June.
The fishing holiday kicks off National Fishing and Boating Week. The week-long event highlights the importance of recreational boating and fishing. During the week, most states offer free fishing days. These are days where anglers are allowed to fish on public bodies of water without a fishing license, so it’s time to get your feet wet.
“Save the Date! On Saturday, June 1 you can fish without a license on Texas public waters during FREE FISHING DAY.
